I was a little hesitant at first, but I decided to check out Decathlon – and I’m so glad that I did! Not only was I able to find everything that I needed for my camping trip in Iceland, but I also saved a ton of money in the process. This site is amazing – it’s perfect for anyone looking for cheap supplies for their next outdoor adventure, or even just for getting any other piece of sports gear!
For gear, I first looked for a deal on a tent. I found one that was perfect for my needs, and it was 50% the price of one from other popular brands. I couldn’t believe it – I thought for sure that I was going to have to spend a lot more money on my trip than I had originally budgeted.
Next, I needed to find some sleeping bags and an inflatable mattress. Again, Decathlon came through with flying colors. I found two sleeping bags that were perfect for the weather and some pillows and mattresses for crazy low prices. The sleeping equipment department has a very wide range of sizes, materials, and use-cases for all the products.
The tent and mattresses were perfect for when we camped out in the wilderness for a few nights and the sleeping bags were so comfortable we didn’t even field the cold, but we also wanted to have a place to stay in town. We found an awesome deal on Airbnb – it was super close to all the main attractions and had great reviews.
for a long time, I wanted to get a good high-capacity backpack for hiking and one for everyday use. On Decathlon I managed to find 2 different backpacks for the price of one, and they are actually made out of really high-quality materials. They both had a ton of pockets and zippers to store everything I brought on this trip.
The backpacks served us well when walking around looking for great places to get some photos. We went to see some lakes and the scenery was gorgeous. At night we caught an amazing aurora, which was worth going for by itself. It was really a stunning phenomenon that you don’t see typically every day.
Speaking of what I brought to the trip, I managed to squeeze an entire wardrobe worth of clothes and accessories in the packs, also from Decathlon. I got t-shirts, long-sleeves and sweatshirts, a few pairs of trousers, shoes, and even a jacket, all for a fraction of the price they would typically go for.
I was so happy with my finds from Decathlon that I decided to do a little more shopping once I got home. I ended up getting a few spare replacement parts for my bicycle, a pair of shoes (at an awesome price), some tennis rackets and balls, and some other goodies.
A bit on where we went…
Iceland was an amazing country to explore. We started in Reykjavik, the capital, and made our way around the Golden Circle. We saw some incredible waterfalls, geysers, and even a black sand beach. We then headed up north to see more of the country – we went whale watching, hiking, and even camping under the stars.
After that, we made our way back down south and explored some of the other towns and villages. We loved everything about Iceland – it’s truly a unique and beautiful place to go to, especially at the end of the winter when it is still snowy and beautiful, but it’s not as cold. The trip was an incredible experience, and I’m glad I went to it, especially after this long time without traveling due to lockdown and all other factors.
I’m already planning my next trip – and you can bet that I’ll be shopping at Decathlon again! Overall, I had an amazing experience shopping on Decathlon. I was able to find everything that I needed for my trip, and then some – and I saved a ton of money in the process. I would highly recommend this site to anyone who is looking for great deals on sports gear and equipment!
If you’re looking for cheap, high-quality supplies for your next outdoor adventure, definitely check out Decathlon. You won’t be disappointed!
